Postaday2011 – Mind Reading

When I saw the topic If you could read minds for a day, would you? I thought to myself, hmm…there goes Plinky.com again! One of the things that keeps life interesting is the fact that we never know what a human being could come up with, most of the time. So why the heck would I want to read minds?

Oh okay, maybe the doctor’s mind.

No – how about God’s mind?

Think about it – and tell me what you think, because I am not going to read your mind.

I prefer to read James Pattersons’ novels right now.

Postaday2011 – My magic tree

My magic tree grows love, peace and happiness.
It grows health
It grows fun
It grows friendship
It grows compassion
It grows gratitude
It grows joy

Postaday2011 Photo today

In prayer.

This lamp is lit in two halves of a lemon after the juice is squeezed out and the lemon’s skin is turned inside out.
It is believed that lighting this lamp is auspicious especially during rahu kaalam, that too on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The lemon lamp is lit in honor of Goddess Durga usually.

Words worth reading

Saw this lovely little verse at The Zen Mama’s blog today and it inspired me to post on my other blog at Going A-Musing:

The kiss of the sun for pardon,
The song of the birds for mirth,
One is nearer God’s heart in a garden
Than anywhere else on earth.

~Dorothy Frances Gurney

Reminded me of all those wonderful times in my childhood – and consequently Vidur’s – when he would get very thrilled seeing a flower bloom in our little garden on the verandah. We had some flowering hibiscus, tulsi, turmeric and balsam that flourished along with the ajwain. Until the aliens – I mean the pigeons decided we should no longer have a garden. Now we just scrape their shit off the floor on the verandah once a week. Errgh.

Sleepless At Work

When I read about the postaday2011 over at For Bloggers by Bloggers I was quite thrilled and thought, why not check it out? I had been meaning to explore the wordpress.com platform since I’ve seen a lot of bloggers recommending it. This seemed like a good time as any. Anyway, I am here and that’s what matters.

Somehow I assumed I’d get an email with ideas from WordPress and that didn’t happen today. That’s fine, really and I realize I’ve got a lot to learn about how WordPress works. I love what I’ve seen so far. And when I looked at the topics already suggested, my head began brimming with ideas instantly. I saw “What’s the longest you’ve been without sleep” topic, several instances came to mind.

To be continued.

I’m Posting every day in 2011!

I’ve decided I want to blog more. Rather than just thinking about doing it, I’m starting right now.  I will be posting on this blog once a day / once a week for all of 2011.

I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring, awesome and wonderful. Therefore I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the community of other bloggers with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.

If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments and likes, and good will along the way.

Signed,

Vidya Sury
